In order to

* Promote cultural blending through vast participation from all sectors of our society
* Develop teamwork, group bonding, support and mutual trust
* Increase camaraderie among partners, colleagues and fellow members of the community
* Train individual members to adopt a constructive, optimistic and self-perpetuating lifestyle and a positive striving spirit
* Take our youths off the street and away from drugs and gangs and to equip them with social skills and commitment
* Provide healthy entertainment and recreation

* Develop dragon boat racing among adults and youths by introducing the sport to all areas of our society
* Create public awareness and publicizing the sport
* Increase membership of GDBA
* Develop a core adult membership that will provide good role models for teenagers
* Encourage the establishment dragon boat clubs in Gauteng
